NGO PROMOTION INC. (NGO PRO) contributes to the (re-) empowerment of a self-reliant and confident society by strengthening the capacities of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) in Papua New Guinea.
The organization was founded in 2005, and since 2011 an IPA registered association.
Why promoting NGOs and CBOs?
Sustainable development needs to build on people’s efforts and potentials to help themselves. NGOs and CBOs provide innovative approaches to empower grassroots people to take development into their own hands, and to actively participate in and determine development processes and projects based on their own needs.

What is the focus of NGO PRO?
NGO PRO has a strong focus on capacity building for NGOs and CBOs – the main issue of concern is to improve the requesting organizations’ capacities in the fields of management, program planning and delivery and handling of finances. Furthermore, NGO PRO helps these emerging NGOs and CBOs to strengthen their network by linking them to other relevant service providers
